The Story
The Graduate is about Benjamin Braddock, a college graduate, who comes home after college and his parents throw him a big party with all of their friends. This is where he meets a woman, Mrs. Robinson, she wants to leave the party so she asks Benjamin to escort her home. Now Benjamin Braddock is not the kind of person to say no to one of his parents friends. When they get to her house she is "afraid" to go in the house when all the lights are off. She asks if he will come in side with her and turn on the lights for he, which he does. This is where everything gets to be very strange for Benjamin. He goes inside and she follows him. They reach the parlor where Mrs. Robinson offers him a drink which she refuses to let him refuse. So they have a drink and he gets all gitty and starts thinking that she is trying to suduce him. She denies this and asks him if he would like to see a portrait of her daughter, Elaine, and again he is not the person to say no. They go upstairs to her daughts room and look as the picture. Mrs. Robinson then procedes to disrobe. Benjamin freaks out and attemps to leave but as he's coming down the stairs he hears a rustling at the door so he pretends to act natural back in the den. Right as he gets positioned Mr. Robinson walks in and gives him another drink and says that he sould ask his daughter out.

Back at his home Benjamin goes over what just happened and decides to call Mrs. Robinson. They decide to meet a Hotel and this is where the affair starts. They continue this affair for a few months until Mrs. Robinsons daughter comes home and everybody is pressuring Benjamin to ask out Elaine, which he does, and Mrs. Robinson is very upset about this. On their date Benjamin brings Elaine to a strip club to have drinks this upsets her very much and she runs out of the building in tears with Benjamin chasing her. He feels bad about what he did so he brings her to a burger joint and start talking, this is where he falls in love with her. Mrs. Robinson doesn't like this at all so when they are suppose to have their next date Mrs. Robinson says if he doesn't break it off with her she is going to tell her everything. He then proceeds to run up to the house and into Elaines room where he tells her everything. She is angry and goes back to college. He follows her to college and they fall in love but she is already ingaged to another man. The whole Robinson is at this church where Elaine is getting married. He sees this and yells Elaine and pounds on the window between them. He runs down and wisks her away and the movie ends with them driving away on a bus stairing strait ahead.

"No Mrs. Robinson I think you're the most attractive of all my parents friends" - Benjamin Braddock
"ELAINE" - Benjamin Braddock

I believe that The Graduate will be one of those movies that will surpass time and be a great movie forever. Dustin Hoffman is truely a great actor no matter what role he plays whether it be The Graduate, Rain Man, or Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium. This is an actor who is very versitile and can play any role that he wants.
