There are over 20 people in my film studies class and very few of them have never seen the Simpsons. The Simpsons is one of those cartoons that have withstood the test of time. It has been around for about 20 years. Although the number of episodes per season have varied.
My Rating Scale
1 - Terrible
2 - Tolerable
3 - It's Ok
4 - Great
5 - I Would Watch This Again
I would give this movie a 4.5 out of 5. It is a very funny very entertaining movie just like the episodes.
Director
David Silverman
Main Characters
Dan Castellanet - Homer Simpson
Julie Kavner - Marge Simpson
Nancy Cartwright - Bart Simpson
Yeardley Smith - Lisa Simpson
Supporting Characters
Harry Shearer - Ned Flanders
I think he is a supporting character because he is a good character but he isn't one of the main ones, and he kind of makes the audience thing about what's going on because he is so different than Homer.
Genre - Animation and Comedy
The Story
It starts out with a look at Springfield lake. It looks at all the pollutants that are being dumped into that lake. Then Lisa is going around asking people to sign a petition to help clean up Lake Springfield. They all slam the door in her face. It isn't until the government tells them that Springfield is one of the most polluted city in America that they start being more eco friendly. Homer then finds a pig and keeps all it's waste in a silo and he has to take it to the treatment plant, which is full of people recycling their waste so the line is very long. Then he hears that they are giving away doughnuts at the local doughtnut shop. So Homer, a doughnut lover, decides that the line is to long and goes and dumps the pig waste in Lake Springfield. This makes the lake bubble and turn black, it has now become a hazardous and is turning animals into mutants with multiple eyes. So the government but's a dome over the whole town of Springfield.
The people then find out that it was Homer who caused the government to put the dome over them. They start a mob and start burning down their house. They escape because Maggie, Homers youngest daughter, found a sink hole that lead outside of the dome. To escape the search parties they move to Alaska. There Homer finds an old Inuit woman and she helps him find out what he needs to do to get the locals of Springfield to like him again. He needs to get rid of the dome.
He goes back to Springfield and saves the day by blowing up the dome.

As you've read this I hope you understand why I gave this movie a 4 out of 5 for my rating. I've always liked The Simpsons and how could I not watch the movie? If your favorite cartoon came out with a movie wouldn't you want to watch it?

Wow! Good detail and personal voice. I suggest making the headline a bit larger.
Thanks...SWM
